Its Friday again, time to post the end to my weeks rotation...
in my LDS "Do Bears" Gallery. It never seems like a get very much done.. I don't think this week I actually got a full 4 hours in per day, so perhaps that's it...

Starting this evening I switch over to Quaker Six Mains...will try harder to keep more to those 4 hours a day.. I think the rotation is working, I think... Comments welcomed.

9-11 JH Progress End of week 1 Rotation

Well, its been a week, doesn't look like I did very much, does it. I forgot that I had a doctors appts that took up one day, and then I fell on Tuesday down our front stairs you should see my.... never mind. Anyway Im getting around better just glad I didn't break anything.

Im now switching to "Do Bears", and will stitch to next Friday afternoon August 18th..

Here's my starting point.. the weather has been wonderful today and will be through the weekend they say, in the low 80's with 40 percent humidity.
Its nice to have all the windows and doors open.. and listen to the birds while you stitch..

Trying to Rotate..

As of today, August 4 Im working a total of 4 W-I-Ps. The most recent one is Jan Houtman's, 9-11 Twin Towers Tribute. Rotation is something totally foreign to me, but Im giving it ago. What I think I will do is this:

1 Week: 9-11 Tribute Sampler
2 Week: Do Bears - LDS
3 Week: Quaker Six Mains
4 Week: Eightsome Reel - PC

Well at least that's my plan...

To see all my current projects just check photo galleries to the right or above at respective week.

Don't have much of an excuse for just stitching, because its so hot now that the HEAT WAVE has broken here in DC, but I still work in a good 4 or so hours of stitching per day, or at least try to..
its good therapy to take a break for housework and home finances to just stitch watch and old movie and relax...

PS: Im going to be using my webite for pictures from now on, blogger is too unpredictible... its easier to update that way..

This arrived today!

Just a photo announcement for our second grandchild, nothing written on the back, no note, no nothing.. so I guess the sentiment is clear..

If you want you can read the whole saga that led to this pitiful token that I received today, you can read my July 25, 2006 post

But on a happier note, this arrived Saturday, my oldest niece is getting married.

She's a school teacher in 7th Day Adventist School, in Texas. (that side is 7th Day Adventist) she has followed all the teachings, did church camps and fellowships, but she is taking a giant step in being married in Presbyterian church. Words cannot express how happy and glad we are for her, so glad.

Her grandmother, my aunt told me a few a weeks ago. She doesn't think she will make the wedding, we wont, we haven't made one.. but its nice to be asked and thought of, isn't it...

On a Spanish and Italian Search...

Im still on a spanish and italian sampler search, if anyone who reads the post can help me please email me or post comment. What Im looking for mostly are historical samplers either published or by designers. I have searched Scarlet Letter, found two nice samplers, and there is the reproduction Mexian Sampler byWild-Heart Designs "Dance of Ancestors" and more recently Diane Jourdan's of Sampler Cover "Sampler Rouge" which lovely! it is due to be released this week. For original designs with a spanish flavor, there is again Wild Heart's Spanish Wine. Another original design, is The Spanish Sampler, by Sampler Workes An last but not least this spot design, which I think has spanish flare.. Examplar Dames "Trinity".

Im in seach of as many books for reference I can find, but I'm either not googling it correctly or doing something wrong all together. So if my fellow readers can help me I would certainly appreciate. Mayte of MagicXStitch has helped me enormously..

So now you might wonder why am I in search of Spanish, Mexican, Cuban, or Italian samplers.. well I'll tell you. Its a comfort thing. Im a devout Catholic, in a parish of postly, early cuban and puerto rican refugee's that came to this country after Fidel took over threw Batista. The parish was also home to large Italian population, who were fleeing the poverty after WWII. Their children where my friends (one most importantly was my son's godmother) an so it goes... that I learned their customs, broke bread and can speak Italian and Spanish. We all went to parochial school together.. and my aunt's lived in their neighborhood.. so that's the story, it feels like home...

For me it all goes back to that "Nature vs Nurture" that raised us and made us. I know my gene pool which is nature, but what makes me "Me" is nurture.. my parents and my environment...
